Where to start!!!

What a fantastic trip we all had this year. Turbo Glass would like to say thank you to those who attended our annual boat run across Lake Kariba, I would name you all but that may take some time!

More Charge!!

So...

In the last post i mentioned a few rules, in this one i shall mention a few funny mishaps we have had along the way. Either on route to the river, on the river or even in a lodge by the lake!

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger... We believe this to be true, especially after some of the uphill battles we have had to make this trip possible...

We have had broken down cars whilst on route, border problems (when we took the trip to Namibia because of petrol problems) motor problems and other interesting dilemmas!

Piranha run continued...

This is not a trip for the feint hearted...

There have been some dramatic ups and downs along the way... We have had motor scares, animal 'intrusions' and a lion attack on this trip over the last twenty years and these are, in a way what makes this African experience unique and unmissable.

Tranquillity...

Piranha Run... The beginning

Right...

I promised more information on the Turbo Charge so here goes.

In 1990 the guys who own and run Turbo Glass decided after one or twenty beers that they would like to do a trip from Msuna (on the western shores of the Zambezi) to Lake Kariba (330km's East) on their boats and then back again. Initially the trip was called 'the piranha run' as this is the companies flagship product and has sold over 2000 of these boats to date.

So... With only one of 30 'men' having even the slightest knowledge of the journey they were about to undergo, no such thing as a GPS and large paperback maps as tools off they went!

WELCOME

Hi everyone!

Welcome to Turbo Glass' new blog. I will be adding information weekly about our business, future products and events. This will all be about boating in Zimbabwe, boats in South Africa and fishing in Kariba.

CHARGE!!

We are once again doing our boat run from Olive Beadle (gorge depending) to Kariba on our fibre glass boats. Some as short as 16 foot.

Fun times ahead for all!!
