On the 4th of October 2012 a select group of fishermen will be gearing up to travel to the Southern borders of Zimbabwe for the Turbo Glass One lure Tournament...

Piranha Legend being completed for the competition

This tournament as it suggests is a one lure event and you, together with all other competitors will be provided with exactly the same lure or bait to use for the entirety of the competition. There will be extra lures or bait available for purchase if indeed you lose or heavens forbid ruin yours on a lunker! You will invite a partner to the event but this is an individual competition where only the heaviest bass will count.

Lunker caught at Nottingham

What Turbo Glass are trying to achieve is, knowing there are some incredible fishermen out there, there are also some very keen beginners who want to learn and be able to enjoy a fishing tournament where the playing fields are slightly levelled hence everyone has to use the same lure. Now October is a VERY hot time of year in Zimbabwe so we have created a start and end time to try combat the heat.

Another good fish

We will start both mornings at 0600 with a weigh in at 1130 after which we will shelter from the sun and resume fishing at 1400 with the final weigh in at 1830. On Saturday the 6th October the last weigh in will be at 1700 to accommodate prize giving and speeches.

Great wildlife

Turbo Glass are holding the event at Nottingham Fishing Resort which is close to Beitbridge (South African border post.) Whilst there will be serious fishing, with some fun times, all tournament and dam rules MUST be adhered to. This is to try and ensure the safety of competitors and their equipment. The dam will be open and available for practise on the 4th October with the captains meeting taking place at 1730 on the 4th at the dam.

Beware... Crocodiles!

With meals and accommodation provided along with entrance fees and a gift pack included in the entry fees payable we have had some great responses from anglers around Southern Africa. To date we have two national anglers from Zimbabwe, one from Namibia and three budding professionals joining forces to try and obtain the prize money for the largest bass $1000.00!!!!
